“I consciously choose which portraits takes shape in my studio. I want to convey melancholy through a quiet motif where I can balance the light and shadows. I want to find the story behind the person, something that they have experienced that shines through. When I make a portrait to order, we work together to identify what the portrait should stand for and what feeling it should radiate.”

I usually follow themes when it comes to my art. Postmodernism is a great influence when I look for new ways of expressing myself. My interests revolve around the form and process of how art create new answers about one’s own self through these encounters. For me, the borders have become less distinct between popular art and fine art from a postmodern perspective, which have made me question what authenticity in photographs and in art really mean. I enjoy combining photography and painting. My art can perhaps be interpreted as a postmodern embodiment.
I was born and raised in Stockholm, with roots in the USA. I have attended a one-year folk school in photography and worked as a photographer for several years and later I attended artistic basic education for two years at Falkenbergs Art School to further develop my artistry and painting. I have also studied Art Science at Södertörns Högskola.
